Words on Wednesday - Anzac Day

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget

Sneak Peek Sunday - Cupcakes for a Princess

Hi Scrappy Bloggers!

It's a rainy Sunday afternoon here in Sydney, so the perfect time to whip up a batch of cupcakes and put the kettle on. And what a wonderful excuse to dip into the big box of new kitchen goodies that arrived here at Aunty Vera's this week.
So...are you ready for a sneak peek...??...

Wilton Princess baking cups are so pretty and perfect for making Butterfly Cakes! They're just one of the eight new baking cups just added to the store.
The others..?...

...{insert maniacal laughter here}...well, if you want a better look you'll just have to pop over to Aunty Vera's Kitchen!
But here's a clue - think babies, think Pirates and Ghoulish Monsters and Dora the Explorer, think pretty garden designs (PERFECT for Mother's Day) and more. Come on over and check them out...I've got the tea brewing and those cupcakes are just delish!

Saturday Scraps - Vintedge Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made for my lovely friend Miss B...

I used both sides of Ruby Rock-It's Vintedge - Musical double-sided page.
Miss B just turned 12 and is such a sweet and gentle young girl, her birthday card just had to be a pretty girly card. And that means doilies....and of course a bit of bling...

Happy Birthday Miss B!

And Happy Saturday Scrappy Bloggers!

Sneak Peek Sunday - PLUS Decoration Pens

Hello Scrappy Bloggers!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I was just watcing this week's upcoming weather report on the news and it looks like Sydney is in for rain, rain and more rain...for at least a week! Wow, now that's Scrapping and New Toy Playing time if you ask me. So....are you ready for a sneak peek...??...

This is a box full of Decoration Pens and Refills from PLUS. I ordered these in simply because I have never seen them before and thought they looked fun! This is the Decoration Pen on its own:

They come in a few different designs and are refillable so you can buy just the one pen and then refills of different designs to add to your collection. They are super easy to use...

You just push down the button at the top to advance the tip - just like a click-top pen!

Then you hold the tip down to your work surface and gently drag the pen along to apply the patterned tape. It's pretty much like those adhesive tape runners you surely have in your stash....only instead of applying double-sided adhesive tape, the tape is only sticky on the side that sticks down to your surface.

Still a bit of practice needed, but you get the idea. Fun, huh!?

These would be great for decorating scrapbook pages, EXCELLENT for card making, and also a lot of fun for those 'nothing to do with scrap' uses like decorating notebooks, calendars and diaries, adding cute borders to wrapped gifts, personalising stationary....really anywhere where you want to add a fun, colourful border.

You can find Plus Decoration Pens and Refills HERE.

Happy Sunday!

Funny Foto Friday - The Little Easter Egg That COULDN'T!

Hi Scrappy Bloggers - it's that time of the week when I find something to laugh at.....so with many promises that this was NOT set up, it's a true story and really did happen, here is a bit of Easter Funniness...

Here is a picture of a (very small!) sample of the Easter eggs I brought home from the Easter Bunnie's Factory...

Being a big Cadbury fan, there was always going to be an excess of Easter chocolate at my house.
My boys declared they were too old for an Easter Egg Hunt, but I still had to buy the big bag of hunting eggs....

...you know, the ones with the little Cadbury plain eggs, and the Caramello eggs, and the....

...WHAT THE..!!??!!...

...wow. That's supposed to be a Turkish Delight egg. Delightful it is NOT.

So ok Easter Bunny - we get that you're overworked and blah blah blah but really - no need to SMASH the eggs now is there!
And again - I promise I didn't set this one up! lol

Happy Friday!

A Bottle of Easter Eggs!

Ooohh...look what I found in the garden! Looks like the Bunny was making a practice run...

Bunny must have raided my scrapping stash, cause it looks like he used some of my cute Easter die-cut alphas to make that 'eggs' sign.... and a Melissa Frances die-cut to pretty up the bottle.

...as well as some paper flowers and gem brad to make the lid.

A great way to recycle a jar or bottle, and it makes a plain pack of mini Easter Eggs really special.

Happy Easter Crafting!

Easter Egg Brownies!

The Kitchen Fairies have been hard at work...raiding the chocolate cupboard!

I make these Easter Egg Brownies every year and they are always a big hit. And really easy to make too!
Simply whip up a batch of your favourite brownie recipe...

Here's mine:
Melt 125g butter and 200g dark chocolate in a large saucepan. When melted and smooth beat in 3/4 cup caster sugar. Then leave for a couple of minutes to cool down a bit.
Add 3 beaten eggs, 1 cup plain (all purpose) flour and 1 tspn vanilla. Stir until smooth.
Bake in a 180degree oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.

Before popping into the oven, dot some little filled Easter Eggs over the top of your mixture, pushing them down so they are about half submerged. I like to use Mars Bar Eggs but anything with some sort of filling will work just as well...

Cut them up once they have cooled and you have some yummy brownies with a lovely little filling in the centre.

So.....

...shall  I put the kettle on..?

Happy baking!

Vintage Easter Egg Tag

Well, I threatened to yesterday...and I did it! I just HAD TO have a pack of those gorgeous Melissa Frances Attic Treasure die-cuts! But I do have a new rule when it comes to Scrap Hoarding. If you're not going to use it NOW...then you can't have it!! lol....we'll see how long that one lasts!
So here is a pretty vintage inspired tag I made using the cute little chicks die-cut...

I used a chipboard egg for the tag and some paper doilies that I stuck to the back using my favourite X-Press It double sided tape. The egg is covered with the reverse side of Prima's Happy Easter Jill paper. I've used this one a few times before, it's a bit of a favourite of mine. The string of pearls is a bit of a cheat - Sticky Bling Runners are a 31cm continuous length of self-adhesive gems. Just cut them to size and voila! a perfectly straight row of blingy gems. Easy!

I've left my cup full of eggs on a quiet corner of my dining room cupboard. I wonder how long till nosey little bunnies find them there!!?!

Happy Easter Crafting!
