Words on Wednesday - Goodbye 2014

Hello Scrappy friends....from the remaining hours of 2014.

We haven't had a Words on Wednesday in a while, so what a great place in time to pick it up again.....

It's the end of an old year...and a new one about to start. So whether you're a big New Year's Eve Partier, a Great Resolution Maker, or you just carry through not paying much attention to the fact that our planet has made it all the way around the sun one more time (yes, there's a subtle House paraphrase in that), here are some quotes for your end of year / New Year pages and projects........

“For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning."

- T.S.Eliot

“Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.”
- Brad Paisley

"Youth is when you are allowed to stay up late on New Years Eve. Middle age is when you are forced to."
- Bill Vaughan

“Hope
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering 'it will be happier'...”

- Alfred Tennyson

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow."
- Albert Einstein

"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Be always at War with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you, a better person."
- Benjamin Franklin

"New Year's Day.. Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual."
- Mark Twain

"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."
- Mother Teresa

From all of us here in Aunty Vera Land, we wish you and your family a happy, safe and prosperous year ahead. Happy New Year!

The Big Blog Tour

Hi Scrappy Bloggers!

Wow! I've been nominated by my gorgeous friend Mish from Full Moon Scrapping to join in a fabulous chain of blog hop tours that is currently travelling through cyber-space. The idea behind this giant blog hop is to keep wonderful creative blogs alive....so join us....you'll meet some lovely new bloggers, find amazing....and I mean AMAZING inspiration, and be part of a community that celebrates all things crafty and creative.

Ok, if you've arrived here on board the Blog Train, then you've just come from Full Moon Scrapping - now wasn't that an inspiring experience? I love Mish's work....she's always out of the box and everything she tries her hand at turns to beautiful! If you've just landed here today and don't know about the Blog Tour, pop backwards to Full Moon Scrapping's page and work your way backwards to find some amazing artists....be warned though, you may end up on the computer for hours!! lol

Ok, so now the terrifying bit....I have four questions to answer. Now if you've visited my blog before, you'll know that I run a papercraft supplies website. I do also love to scrap, make cards and generally play with papers and glue and messy bits. When I get the time! Which at the moment is not so often. Oh yes, and I love to cook! So I'll answer today's questions mainly from the 'Shop Keeper's' point of view....but I'll throw a bit of Aunty Vera madness into the mix ;)

The questions.....

1. What am I working on?

This is a crazy busy time in Aunty Vera Land as the big CHA Summer Show in the States has just ended so I am busy busy ordering in all sorts of new goodies that have just been revealed.....

From the crafty perspective...... the hyperactive part of me isn't happy if I'm not doing at least half a dozen things at once. Currently on my craft table I have Project Life bits and bobs as I try to get those thousands of USA holiday photos in some sort of order, a birthday card for an overseas travelling friend and a steampunk crocodile... he's going to be a bit of a cross between Tim Holtz and Jeannie Baker....lol

2. How does my work differ from others of its Genre?

From the shop point of view, I like to think that I stock a lot of new released goodies that are hard to find in Australia. I'm told by some of my lovely customers that they find it difficult to find entire Graphic 45 collections and other brand collection packs else-where. But that's enough of the shop talk for today.....

I also have a bit of an obsession with food.....and an unusual little helper named Bill......which leads to me often going off topic in the search of the perfect cake.....

3. Why do I create what I do?

You know what they say - it's cheaper than therapy! lol.
Also....and what a great place to say this, in the middle of a blog hop busting at the seams with creative inspirations..... cause sometimes I see something amazing on the internet and think 'oh wow, I've just got to try that'.

4. How does my process work?

Haha - there IS no process!! seriously! Probably explains why I have so many things going on at once. But if I had to put it down to one thing.... I would have to say it's all based around my terrible Paper Hoarding Disorder ;)

Right then! Ready to go visiting some fun blogs?  Here are the three that I nominate....

Tarrah McLean - love Tarrah's pages, she has such style and works wonders with colour

Mandy Harrell from For Scrapping Out Loud........mixed media so awesome you just want to reach through the screen and touch it!

Scrap the Boys - a challenge blog that's all about boys. Living in a house full of boys, I'm loving it!

I hope you've had fun here today. Please pop over and support these awesome blogs and the clever ladies behind them. And don't forget you can also go backwards in blog-time and backtrack through all the blogs before me.

Have fun!
Aunty Vera :)
