Happy Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas Crafty Friends!

*sshhhh*... we'll ignore the fact that my 25 Days of Christmas kind of fizzled out. My apologies - I had a whole lot of personal stuff come up, and the blog was pushed to the bottom of the list (once again).

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a safe and crafty 2016.

Here is a little something that I have been working on the past week. I found the instructions on the Kaisercraft blog and just fell in love with it, knowing that my Aunt would just love it........

It's a Wall Art project, covered with Kaisercraft's Holy Night paper and embellished with Collectables and stickers, and a touch of gold paint.....

Wishing you all the best at Christmas

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 19 - Wrapping Paper Cards and Tags

Hello Crafty Bloggers!

I'm melting!!!!! It's been such a hot day here in Sydney, Australia. I am SO dreaming of a White Christmas!!!!! I'm sure the soaring temperatures have something to do with all the tech problems I am currently experiencing. So we'll pretend that we didn't notice yesterday's lack of a blog post, ok? I won't tell if you don't ;)

Today we have some really clever cards and tags from Team Designer Leanne.
Leanne found some adorable wrapping paper and thought 'wouldn't these images make the BEST cards!'
Take a look at what she created........

"I found this delightful wrapping paper and LOVED the owls and fox.  So I thought I would make it into some cards.
I simply cut a piece out a little smaller than the card, then cut out and glued some of the characters to white card stock and then mounted them in place and finished with some dots of stickles"

Aren't they just fabulous!?

You don't need to spend a fortune on specialized papers and other goodies (even though it's fun to do so....lol)...... beautiful cards and tags can be achieved with such simple supplies as blank cards, simple sentiments and a roll of lovely wrapping paper.

Thank you Leanne, I just adore these!!

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 17 - A Christmas Carol Gift Card Holders

Hello again Crafty Bloggers...... and welcome to Day 17 of our Christmas countdown. It's now a week till Christmas Eve. A WEEK!!!!! Is panic setting in?

If you're like me, you might have friends or relatives on your gift list who are either really hard to buy for or who are saving towards a special something.... and that's when gift cards come in really handy.
You can pop one of these into an envelope with their Christmas card, or purchase the little cardboard envelopes that the shops sell for them.......... or you can do something really special and give the cards a personal touch by making your own gift card holders.

Team Designer Fiona did just that...... using Graphic 45's A Christmas Carol papers.
Feast your eyes...........

Wow! How special is that!? I'll never just pop a gift card into a plain envelope again!!!
Thank you Fiona!

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 16 - Christmas Scrapping

Hi Crafty Bloggers!

Have you ever noticed that I call myself Aunty Vera SCRAP and craft. Yes... SCRAP... and craft. Hmmm.... there's been a sad lack of scrapping on the blog of late! So today we're fixing that by showcasing a couple of scrapbook pages....... Christmas ones of course.

Team Designer Sarah has pulled out a Christmas album she scrapped as a gift back in 2013/2014. The pages are 8x8" - and isn't it good to see pages that are about the photos? I can't judge, as I am a huge fan of Christmas papers and embellies and all thinks sparkly, but sometimes keeping the pages about the people in the pictures, and the occasion celebrated (especially if the album is a gift) means more than showing the world the entire contents of your scrap stash on one page (come on - we've all been guilty of that one!)

Here are some of Sarah's Christmas pages....

I love the hanging baubles on that second layout!
Thank you Sarah!

Have you ever made an album as a gift? We'd love to hear about it!

25 Days of Christmas - Day 15 - Jingle All the Way

Hi Crafty Bloggers

Christmas is just around the corner and if you're anything like me, your Christmas Card Making is in full swing as you squeeze in those last few cards that you can make before you put away the Christmas papers...... oh, who am I kidding? The Christmas papers are ALWAYS out in Aunty Vera Land! (lol)

I saw this fabulous card on pinterest that I just HAD to scraplift... especially since I had purchased the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies from my favourite Stampin' Up Demonstrator.... the lovely Deb from A Time to Stamp. The card is from Carolina Evans' blog and it's just GORGEOUS!

I had some sheets of white vellum with silver stars printed on it, and thought it would be perfect for a card like this.
So here is my take on it.......

Oops - did you notice the ink smudge? Can I pretend it's part of the design? ;)
I cut the village layer from white glitter card.... I love that sparkly look (and feel!).....

I just adore the tree layer..... it can be used for so many occasions. Really cute!

And a little sparkle from another Stampin' Up product - Winter Wonderland Embellishments. I love them so much I'm sticking them on EVERYTHING!.........

...... I even used a few to embellish my phone case!

One card down...... now, how many more to make?

Thank you for joining us today.

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 14 - A Message from Bill

Hi everyone, it's Bill here - the happy bear that actually runs the Social media Department of Aunty Vera Land........

My Mumma Bear (aka Aunty Vera) had such fabulous intentions doing this 25 Days of Christmas thing........ but you know, sometimes life gets in the way, and today poor Mumma Bear has been run off her feet and hasn't even had a chance to switch on the computer.
So thank you for dropping by. here is my bit of Christmas Craft - a paper lantern made from some pretty Christmas scrapbooking paper. I then shoved a little set of battery operated Christmas lights inside it (you can get these from Big W for about $5)...... doesn't it look pretty?

Thank you for dropping by and hanging with the bear. Aunty Vera will be back tomorrow.

Cheers
Bill ;)

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Days 12 and 13 - A Christmas Gift Folio

Hello Crafty Bloggers....... oh boy, technology has not been my friend this weekend, and as a result, we had no Christmas post yesterday. So, to make up for it, today I will show you that sometimes Aunty Vera actually gets her craft on. (SOMETIMES!.... lol).

You may remember back in November Amira showed us her fabulous Trifold Insert Fairy Card. Well! I loved it SO much, and thought I just HAD to plagiarize it.... thinking what a fabulous little folio it would make for some little crafty Christmas gifts. So here it is.....

I used the same TUTORIAL that Amira found for her trifold card, and used a couple of older collections that I love to cover and decorate..... Bo Bunny's Silver and Gold and Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas.

Here is the front cover.....

And the back. I didn't embellish this side as I just love that Sugarplum Shoppe logo!

It opens up to reveal pockets, pockets and pockets.......

So my idea is this.... filling the pockets with little Crafty Treats to send to a crafty friend for Christmas. Now unfortunately I suspect that this friend may look at this blog from time to time, so I can't post a picture of the folio filled with treats today. But I'm sure you can imagine the fun I had..... and may want to make one of these yourself for Christmas. You can fill the pockets with all sorts of treasures!

Thank you for dropping by.
I hope you all had a lovely and crafty weekend
Aunty Vera :)

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 11 - A Special Sewer's Gift, and Easy-To Post Cards

Hello Crafty Bloggers and.......... it's now TWO WEEKS TILL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! (can you hear the panic in my words? Where are the days going??)

Today we have a double treat on the blog. Guest Designer Deb joins us with a very special handmade Christmas gift. And some lovely cards that are perfect for posting.

Feast your eyes and be inspired.......

"I made these little scissor keepers for the girls in my sewing group. We get together once a month (sometimes lol), I thought it would be nice to make them something. The dies to make the scissor keeper and flowers and stamps are from Papetrey Ink in the USA.
I decorated the little gift wrap envelope to put them in."

"The 3 Christmas cards I made are just one layer of cardstock, which makes them very economical especially if you have a lot to send, and saves on postage also as they are not too thick, I have learnt the hard way about putting a lot of embellishments on cards and then having to pay extra postage to send them."

Thank you so much for sharing Deb! I adore those little scissor holders - so special! You could also use them to hold your fussy-cutting scissors.
And the cards are just beautiful! I especially love the kraft and gold stars card!

Happy Friday dear readers, I hope you all have a lovely (and crafty) weekend

25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 10 - Stamped Christmas Cards

Hello crafty bloggers!

Today's treats are especially for the stampers. Team Designer Leanne has created some lovely stamped and coloured Christmas cards to share with us. And also took a little trip down Memory Lane to visit a past collection that was one of my favourites of....... 2014 I think! How time flies!
Come take a look..........

"Here are some cards I made using Aleene's glitter snow and a set of 'Little Gorjuss'  - Snowman stamps.  The stamps have been coloured using watercolour pencils"

"Here is another stamp using the 'Little Gorjuss' Snowman stamp set and the glitter snow.  Also a card using the Gorjuss 'Holly' stamp set.  Also coloured using water colour pencils and the heart is from a Kaiser set of Nesting Hearts dies.
The 'Merry Christmas' and 'Season's Greetings' are cut with Kaisercraft Word Dies"

"And here are a couple of cards made using the old Bo Bunny Elf Magic"

Thank you Leanne I love love LOvE them! I'm not a stamper, so am always in awe of stamped and coloured cards. Such a beautiful job.
And Elf Magic - how I miss it! I wish I'd had one of my ordering 'mishaps' with that collection and had a stockpile of them....... it was so cute!

Are you a stamper? A die-cutter? Or do you look at cards like this and run away screaming in fear?
Maybe it's time to give it a go - you may just surprise yourself!
